Sofa surfer: Layout by Elaine King

Sofa surfer: Layout by Elaine King

Elaine is sharing more inspiration for the August kits today. This layout features her gorgeous “sofa surfing” dog.
Here’s how she did it.

First I took a sheet of the Date Swirl grey cardstock and used a stencil across a large central panel in the middle to create a background layer. I used Distress Oxides: Fossilised Amber and Black Soot by Tim Holtz and a stencil from my own stash but there are a large selection available from The Mad Scrapper.

Next, I cut a selection of strips of patterned paper in various widths and lengths and laid them across the page staggering the depths and using two different foam tape adhesives to add dimension.
I added two of the tags from the cut apart tag sheet behind the photo and matted the 4” square photograph on a piece of scrap black card stock.
I also added two more tags beneath the photograph and embellished with punched circles and hearts dotted around the page.
Finally I fussy cut the # from the reverse side of the alphabet sheet and added the title using the gold alpha stickers.
