Kerry is sharing her third layout using the August Scrapaholix kit today. Here she explains how she did it in her own words.
For this layout I used the black cardstock for my base and began by adhering two of the border strips to the left and right of the cardstock. I then cut a 12 x 4 inch strip from the ‘Lucky treasures’ patterned paper and cut the scallop from one of the long edges. I adhered this to my page alongside the border strip.
Next I mounted my 4x6 landscape photo to alternate pieces of black and white cardstock, finishing with a white so it would stand out against the black.
Then I cut out two of the tags, trying to choose black or white tags and thread them with some black gingham ribbon from my own stash. I placed these on the page and adhered my photo on top.
I loved all the phrases in this collection, I found a long piece on the clippings paper which read ‘the world is full of beautiful things’, my photo shows a graffiti corridor which lead to Romeo and Juliet’s balcony in Verona and was full of messages of love, so I thought it was an apt phrase. I lay this across the bottom of my photo along with a further phrase and some black and white heart ribbon also from my stash.
Finally I added a cut out butterfly, some little acrylic hearts, from my stash and the word ‘Verona’, using an alpha from a previous kit.
