Romeo and Juliet: Layout by Kerry Mcinally

Romeo and Juliet: Layout by Kerry Mcinally

Kerry is here with her second Layout using the August 2024 Scrapaholix kits which you can view HERE.
Here’s what she wrote.

Using white cardstock from my own stash and Fossilised Amber distress oxide ink, I used the packaging technique to apply splatters of the yellow ink in various areas on the cardstock.  I then used black ink and a script stamp, also from my stash to apply script randomly on my page.

Next I cut a 12x5 inch piece of the ‘Lucky Trinkets’ paper, distressed the edges and adhered it to the right of my page leaving a gap of approximately 1cm.  Then I cut a 12x3inch piece of the Clippings paper, distressed the edges and placed that on top of the previous strip.  I cut a 10x2 inch strip of the diamond paper and added that.

I backed my 4 x 6 portrait photo on scrap white card and the ‘Date Swirl’ cardstock provided and using foam tape added this to the background.  The photo shows myself and my son at Romeo and Juliet’s balcony in Verona.  I cut out the ampersand from the alphabet paper and added this to the bottom left of my photo.  Then I used the gold stickers provided to make the title ‘Romeo and Juliet.
Finally I fussy cut a butterfly and star from the alphabet tiles and the phase ‘capturing joy’, from the Clippings paper.  I added the library card from the ephemera provided in the kit and a fabric heart from my own stash.
