Kerry is here with her final layout as a design team member for Scrapaholix. Everyone here at The Mad Scrapper would like to thank her for all her inspirational layouts in the past and we wish her well. Here’s what she did.
For this layout I used a 4”x 6” portrait photo, the Full Bloom and Pen Pal patterned papers, Blackbird cardstock , and the stickers and embellishments provided in the kit.
First of all I matted my photo with alternate layers of white and black cardstock and the green side of the Pen Pal patterned paper.
Then using Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide ink and a Vicki Boutin stencil from my stash, I stencilled a vertical line approximately 4” wide behind where my photo mat would sit.
Next I created an ‘L’ shaped shelf to the left of the layout using a 1 1/2” x 12” strip of the Full Bloom paper, a 1” x 10” strip of the Pen Pal paper, (the green side), a 9” strip of the script side of the same paper which had a torn edge, and an 11” strip of the green side of the Pen Pal paper which I had cut with a border punch, from my own stash. I distressed the edges of all these papers.
Then I tore an 8” strip of the Pen Pal paper and placed this horizontally under my photo mat along with the branding strip from the same paper. I also tore a corner from the black cardstock and placed a piece of the same patterned papers underneath.
I then turned to embellishing the page. I found a frame from a ‘Where To Next’ embellishment pack. I cut it in half and placed it to the right of my photo along with the various leaves and title provided in the embellishment pack.
I added the title ‘Festival Churros’ using some gold Alphabet Soup stickers from my stash. Finally I used some stickers from those provided in the kit to add a tab and a banner as well as some left over stickers from my own stash to complete the layout.
Supply List.
