You and Me Layout

You and Me Layout

Here is a single page layout I did using the May Scrapaholix kits. I love this paper range and it was just perfect for this selfie I took of my friend and I on New Year's Eve this year.
I started with a sheet of Bazzill Raven Cardstock as the base, then cut the Stars patterned paper to 11.5"x11.5". Next I double matted my photo in white then black cardstock - as the patterned paper is busy I felt I needed a break between the busyness of the paper and the busyness of the photo.
The You & Me title and the viewfinder are Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I painted with gesso.
On the right hand side of the page I layered up 2 of the MAMBI border strips with the tear off strip from the bottom of the patterned paper. Then I horizontally added part of another border strip along with a thin strip of black cardstock.
I stuck down my matted photo on an angle, then added the viewfinder and a large black Green Tara paper flower folded in half on the bottom left hand side of the photo.
I chose some phrase stickers from the Tim Holtz sticker sheet, matted them in black cardstock and placed them overlapping parts of the photo.
I used Finnabair's 3D gloss gel to stick my chipboard title on the bottom right hand side of the photo, along with the gold glitter heart from the kit.
The "Brilliant" diecut word is from an older Pink Paislee range, which I stuck down with foam tape underneath to give it some dimension.
The gold star clear stickers on the viewfinder are from the March kit sticker sheet, they are from Amy Tangerine's gorgeous Shine On range.
I'm quite happy with this layout, it's not too busy, and although the photo isn't the best, it's a fun reminder of a fun night!
