Time for Fun by CHARLEEN WALES

I've continued using the October Kit - Life's a Party, to document my daughter's 10th birthday party.
I was so excited to try out the Prima Marketing Resist Canvas from the main kit, I had so many ideas and at first, struggled to make a choice but settled on a rainbow burst. Every Unicorn party needs a rainbow burst. I used Distress Oxides, which are available from The Mad Scrapper, and blended them through an old stencil from my stash. I love the effect. I love the effect so much that I couldn't "distress" it. So not entirely the right effect for a distressed canvas but I love the look and think it works well with the page. I also added a few gold splatters to my rainbow, using my very old Heidi Swapp Colour Shine.
I then added a layer of tissue paper under the Canvas and then a piece of American Crafts white cardstock - available from The Mad Scrapper - under the tissue paper to create dimension. I distressed the Cardstock using my distressing tool.
I then stuck the layers onto my white cardstock background and used my distress ink to continue with the burst of colours onto the background.
I backed my smaller photos with the same American Crafts White cardstock and backed the small photo to the right of the page with the Stars N Rainbow Stripes B side pattern paper from the Main Kit. I also used the Stars N Rainbow Stripes B side pattern paper to back the bigger photo after backing it with tissue paper first. I distressed the edges of my backed photos using my distressing tool.
I combined products from the Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush collection with the Scrapaholix October kit. They complement each other so well and they are available at The Mad Scrapper.
I was so pleased to get a makeup Mascara die-cut piece from the Add-on kit and found a nail polish piece in my stash. I also used the mini cardstock stickers from the Add-on kit, "Time for Fun" and "Party". I stuck the clear stickers onto white cardstock first and then cut them out so that I could move them around like ephemera. The pompom strip is from my stash, I think it's a great way to finish off a fun page.
