I love using shapes on my layout, I little while ago I created a very simple layout with circles, rectangles, triangles and it’s one of my favourites. So seeing this gorgeous winter kit and the fussy cutting possibilities I decided to do a similar shape page but using hexagons. I love hexagons and think they look so effective on a page. The one thing that slipped my mind was that I don’t have hexagon dies or punches and I don’t own a cutting machine. I had my heart set in hexagons so I had to cut them all manually which, I won’t lie, it was difficult and a lot of work and they are not cut 100% accurately but despite that I am loving the out come.
So firstly, I chose to use the pattern papers from the Welcome Winter
Collection Whiteout from the main kit and the Mitten Weather from the add on kit, which I cut hexagons out around the snowflakes and mittens. I also cut hexagons out of the gorgeous Best Creation white glitter cardstock from the add on kit.
And in my moment of madness I decided to add shaker pockets too, which are also hand cut using the glitter cardstock from the add on kit. The sequins are from my own stash. I also backed my photos using the glitter cardstock.
To finish off my page I added some sequins and a title “Snow happy”, the alphas are from my stash. The idea was not to go overboard with the sequins but I think I did.
I love all the shine and glitter on this page and it depicts the mood and our love for the snow.
