I’ve really enjoyed using the April kit, and with the exception of a few alphas and large stickers I have used every piece.
Here is my fifth layout using the cut apart sheet.
I began by using the packaging technique on a piece of white cardstock using distress oxides from my stash in mustard seed and Rustic wilderness.
While this dried I cut out 2, 4inch circles, 1, 3 inch circle and 1, 2 inch circle. I also cut my photo into a 4 inch circle then trimmed slightly so it fit inside a circle with a slight border. I distressed all the edges and again using my own stash I applied some vintage photo ink to the circles.
I cut out the banner pieces from one of the cut aparts, and cut a further two banners from other off cuts. I also cut out the camera.
I applied the branding strip from a previously used piece of paper and then attached the circles so they overlapped each other slightly. I raised the photo circle on some foam.
I then attached the banner pieces to the branding strip. I really liked the sentiments on these banners as I was documenting a camping trip with our friends and children. I placed the camera to the right. I used a title from my own stash along with some further sentiment stickers. Finally I used the raised ‘happy thoughts’ sticker and applied some gold Nuvo drops, again from my stash.
When I looked at my layout I thought it needed something to frame it, so I trimmed a small amount from each side and added a black cardstock frame. I also doodled some black edges around the circles with a gel pen.
