Skye & Harris Scrapbook Canvas by SHARON NETTLESHIP

Hi I'm excited to be showing you my first Scrapaholix Design Team project using the gorgeous August kit. I have made a scrapbook page but layered it onto a 12x12 chunky canvas so I can hang it in my craft area. I love Skye and Harris one of my favourite places to visit so this will be a great reminder of our adventures there.
I started off with the text paper. Using Fired Brick & Chipped Sapphire oxide inks I made a watercolour painted background by randomly brushing it over. I then layered this onto the Bazzill blackbird cardstock. To add a bit of texture I used a stencil and the same inks to make the little speckles. I really liked the circle paper so I used that by tearing it into 3 strips and adding rub on stitching down the left sides and blending the chipped sapphire along the edges.  For the edges I added some little torn pieces of the papers and more cut out circles.
I've even used the little colour code which you find on the info strip along each paper. I added some more of the stitching and used a little texture crackle paste through the stencil. It really gives a nice crackle texture even if you use a little.
The photos have been layered up with the 4 different cardstocks in the kit with the black being the base layer and I added some of the cut out embellishments from the add on kit. Also in the add on kit is a sheet of paper with some sayings on so I tore the "everywhere" one out and edged it with the chipped sapphire. I also used the speckle stencil to add some interest with the same ink.
For the chipboard discover and explore pieces I inked with the fired brick and chipped sapphire and then using my finger I dabbed some of the crackle texture paste over them. When this was dry I added some little dots using the black contour paint which comes with the main kit.
Next was my title I used  the dotty papers from the main kit and stencilled the paper using the same inks and speckle stencil. I then layered that onto the black cardstock. Little tip for you, it's easy to line your letters up if you use a row of dots as a line for the bottom of the letters. The lovely bold alphabet come from the add on kit. I also added some white highlight dots with a posca pen. When everything was adhered I splat some white acrylic paint across the page and also added some of the texture crackle paste through the same stencil for more texture.
As well as the August kit and add on kit I have used:
Hope you like it
