I am still utterly in love with this month's Scrapaholix kit. The papers in the Viken collection are so beautiful I am finding it difficult to use my usual go-to white cardstock background but at the same time I've found it challenging using a pattern paper background so I have been pushed out of my comfort zone this month and loving it.
For my second project, I have used the Viken Temptations pattern paper from the Add-on kit for my background. The challenge was to come up with a layout that complimented the background and that didn't cover up too much of its gorgeousness. I, therefore, decided to make different size square frames using the Viken Enchanted Fields pattern paper from the Main kit to add interest to the page without covering up too much of the background paper which I feel has worked well with my square photos.
I used the Bazzill Whirlpool cardstock to back my photos with white tissue paper. I used my distress tool to distress the edges of the frames and my backed photos.
I applied some of the rub-ons to white cardstock and cut them out. I was then able to use them like ephemera and move them around until I was happy with their placement.
I used sticky back foam behind my photos and on the frames, I had made, to give my page dimension.
I used a few words from the title rub-on page and applied them directly to my page to create a title and I also applied a few of the smaller phrases to white cardstock and backed them with sticky back foam.I only applied a little bit of glue to the dragonfly bodies so that I could lift their wings off the page creating more dimension to the page.
My daughter was so excited that this gorgeous little damselfly / dragonfly chose to land on her hand and was absolutely amazed at how beautiful it was. The perfect kit to document the "perfect moment captured".
