1920's Movie "Star" BY LOUISE CROSBIE

1920's Movie "Star" BY LOUISE CROSBIE

My last Scrapaholix project.
I had a piece of one of the papers left from my first project and I wanted to use that as the inspiration to this second project.
It was a warm white with little black hearts so I decided on a romantic love theme. One of the little cut out quotes on another of the papers was “love you to the moon and back” so this loving couple sitting on a star seemed to be a good fit. They look liked actors from a silent movie to me so I’ve combined the moon, movie, and stars theme to make a sparkly glitzy 1920s/ 1930s style layout.
I cut out extra flowers and a moon using the pink spotty Bazzill included in the kit (I loved that spotty card).
As I knew I wanted to do a spot of mixed media on the paper and card, I made sure to give all of it a couple of coats of clear gesso. This protects the paper from getting too soaked and still allows paint to flow when sprayed with water.
There was a cut out film strip already included on one of the papers in the kit so I used that as well as some extra film reel from Tim Holtz.
I’ve added glitter and lots of little stars (stars from Tim Holtz Idea-ology) to keep the glitzy movie star theme going.
I’m afraid it was raining when I tried to take the photos so there are raindrops and smudged ink blots showing. Just ignore those lol.
Supply List:-

Papers from the kits
Film strip ribbon. (alternatively, You could use Dusty attic Mini film strip)
White gesso for splatters. (other sizes availble)
Ink black liquid acrylics.
Die cutting using dies from my personal supplies.
