This is my second layout using the April kit, and I have focused on using the Paperie pieces which have come with the kit. I love the colours in this kit. Sometimes I struggle to find papers and ephemera that suit a boy, but the print shop collection has great colours in it that cover that.
I decided to scrap photos of my son going to see the Arctic Monkeys at the Royal Albert hall for his birthday.
First of all I cut a 1inch border from the Whirlpool cardstock and then inset a piece of the white cardstock. I then began to mat my 4 3x4 photos using the larger pieces from the Paperie pieces supplied in the kit. These pieces are great for layering and I cut some pieces in half to use again. I then used three border strips and lay them down the middle of the page.
I then used the Vicki Boutin circular stamp set from my stash to stamp some circles using my own distress oxide inks in Speckled Egg and Black Soot.
I raised my photos on foam and positioned them loosely where I wanted them to go and then began looking at the washi stickers from the kit.
I positioned these around and under my photos. The washi stickers are great because you can keep repositioning until you are happy with their placement.
I added another Paperie piece which said Lucky day, and added a little blue wax thread through the hole, and then finally added one of the foam stickers from the kit in the bottom right.
