Dream by JACKIE BURTON

The papers this month are from Heidi Swapp, Carefree range. The papers have some lovely soft pastel colours and perfect for dreamy photos and were perfect for my picture. I have a busy month so it is a single layout and very easy, but I think the layers work well.

First, I painted all my chipboard pieces white with gesso and when dry I painted them with Metallique White Pearl which is more of a silvery white. Finally, I randomly inked the chipboard pieces with Brilliance pearlescent orchid ink. I cut my photo, so it fitted inside the frame.

My base is a sheet of vanilla cardstock 12”x12” layered with piece of Mirage cut to 11¾”x11¾”. Then I layered with another piece of vanilla cut to 10”x10” and then the reverse side of a piece of mirage cut to 9¾”x 9¾”. I created a photo mat from a piece of fig swirl cut to 6⅛”x5⅛” and the reverse side of a piece of Vista cut to 6”x5” and placed this ¾” from the left-hand side and top of the grey side of mirage.

I cut two strips of Vanilla measuring 2”x10”and 10”x1⅛” and then added two strips from mirage and Vista. I placed the larger strip, so it ran top to bottom on top of the piece of Mirage ½” from the right-hand edge and cut a heart border on my silhouette from vanilla and Mirage. I then placed the smaller strip running left to right and ¾” from the bottom edge of Mirage and added a strip of lace ribbon.

I finished off by adding the botanical garden flowers and the Dream title. I cut a rocking horse on my silhouette and attached it with a spring, so it rocks.

All the papers I edged with Brilliance Pearlescent Orchid.
