Steampunk treasure box: By Louise Crosbie.
Ok Yes! It’s another steampunk treasure box. But I HAD to 😂
The new moulds plus the absolutely gorgeous background papers (all from the Stamperia Mr Vagabond “Fantasy World” range) just had to be used. I’m so in love with them.
On top of the moulds and the papers, I also got the new wax colours from the Finnabair wax range and the Sea Glass and Honey both looked ideal for these papers
I dusted some mica powders into my silicon module before pouring in the resin. It’s a good way to apply colour and it was my first time trying it. I liked the result and will try it again in the future.
I went over the raised parts with my waxes then gave the whole thing a colour wash using burnt sienna liquid acrylics.
I needed to use two sheets of the 12x12 paper to cover the lid and the four sides. But I have some left over bits that I can use in smaller projects or a mini album or something.
I used the background set. As a nice extra authentic vibe, I aged the edges with Burnt Sienna and Ochre liquid acrylics. I say “authentic vibe” but clearly it’s not in the least authentic. There’s nothing old about it lol. Brand new pine box, brand new papers etc.
I was happy with the final look. But only for about a week.
Then I was compelled to add to it. So I used another resin piece cast from Finnabair’s Mecha moth mould with a couple of her rustic gears. I used waxes and pixie paste to give it a bit of magical bling.
