Nutcracker folio: By Louise Crosbie

Nutcracker folio: By Louise Crosbie

Hello again.

I’m sharing some ideas for the beautiful Stamperia Nutcracker collection.
I’ve made this trifold folio style book by using three Kraft coloured envelopes. I stuck them together in a way that kept them open and left room for tucking things inside.

It’s almost completely made from the collections papers, ephemera and chipboards. I’ve added some bits of lace and old book pages for extra touches and a couple of vintage images.

It was so easy to make a pretty folio when all the components are there ready and matching. I really enjoyed doing it and loved the finished item.

I admit I was a little disappointed not to see a mouse king among the images but I loved that it celebrated the fact this lovely festive story is also a very popular seasonal ballet with its inclusion of ballet slippers and ballet dancers.

You can make this collection bright and modern or, like me, you can add the vintage vibe to it. To keep the vintage look I was going for, I lightly sanded the big chipboard pieces just to take a little of the shine off and distress them a touch.

The papers come in various sizes. I used the 8x8 but I’d like to do another using the 12x12.
I’m not sure if the 8x8 are in stock at the moment so I'll link you to the 12x12 set
