February scrapaholix kit continued: tag book by LOUISE CROSBIE

Hello everyone.
I am back with another project aiming to use up more of the papers etc from the February Scrapaholix kit. As I progress, the bits I am left with get smaller. So I am now thinking mostly about cards and tags etc.
Today I started a grungy tag book.
There was a damask type of pattern running as a theme through the papers so I focused on that and dug out my Tim Holtz damask stencil and damask stamps to have on standby.
I cut out four tags from the coloured Bazzill card. As well as three from the patterned “Miles Apart” papers. The papers were to layer onto the bazzill.
I’ve really just done little paper crafting collages with a touch of mixed media to grunge things up.
Finally I remembered to use some of the self adhesive letters. I forgot about them every time in the previous projects.
I’ve used a large bulldog clip to hold it together but to make it look like it belongs I sanded the clip, put on white gesso then let it dry completely. I then added some rust effect paste and sprayed it with water. Because a bulldog clip has to move to be functional, you will want to open and close it as few times as possible as moving it might cause the gesso etc to crack and come off, so I recommend you wait till all your tags are all completed then add the clip at the end.
I still have a few tags to do but even when I complete this, I have some bits of paper and bazzill left over for a bit of ‘mat and layer’ action on future projects.
Well this was my first kit. It never occurred to me to buy one before. I think it is safe to say, the kits are great value!
Thanks for reading.

Wow! What a fab way to use up small leftover pieces… love that grungy look and it sets off the papers brilliantly 😍
