I had this fab photo by Dmitry Vechorco of lady in a demon cosplay and I really wanted to use it in a project.
I’ve called it “contemplating life as a demon”. 😂
It’s made on a 12x12 piece of corrugated card which I probably got as packaging in a scrapbooking order from The Mad Scrapper lol.
I’ve used lots of resin pieces I cast in Finnabair moulds as well as metal flowers and I’ve coloured it mostly using, my favourite mica powder from the “golden hour” set. It’s so golden and warm.
There are lots of ways to use the mica powders. You can mix them in with your paints to make them more sparkly and metallic looking. You can mix them with acrylic fluid medium or soft gel, which dry clear, to make your own new paint, or you can do what I’ve done and sprinkle them dry, straight onto your project and spray over them with a mixture of water and a little fluid medium. Actually I didn’t have fluid medium so I used soft gel medium and just diluted it even more.
The water helps the powder flow and spread and the medium holds the powder in place permanently.
I have a process video for this piece which shows you everything I did from start to finish. Together with the supply list provided here, you should be able to do similar techniques for yourself.
Just follow the link.
