Club Revenge by AMANDA KING
Hello Mad Scrappers! Amanda here to share a new scrapbook page made with papers from Vicki Boutin’s Storyteller collection. This is my first time working with one of her collections and it does not disappoint.
I chose the Free Spirit paper for my background, and that does half the work of making an interesting page. I matted my photo (of my daughter and her friends at a Brighton nightclub) on a scrap of dark green cardstock that matches the spots on the background and started building up the paper layers to go behind it. I used a panel of the Mariposa paper, the back of the butterfly print, and added a section of the Plot paper, a fabulous sheet for cutting apart, printed with faux layered sections, tags, tickets and other motifs. This gave the illusion of more layers than there were, but I added more by tucking in a strip of Sequence paper to echo the stripes in my photo.
I also added a strip of narrow gold washi tape from my stash and once my photo was in place I continued the layering by tucking a tag from the Plot paper, one of the Cardstock Stickers and a die-cut label (cut from another tag) in to the right hand side of my photo. I chose the label rather than a second tag to match the label shape printed on the paper (where my daughter can add her journaling later).
I then added a ticket from the Plot sheet and a few paper off-cuts to the left of the photo and used more off-cuts with another die-cut label and a second piece of washi to make a cluster at the top of the page.
I returned to the cardstock sticker sheet for the word Joyful and lots of gold hearts which I scattered across the page. Finally I added my title using Thickers from 5th & Monaco by Pink Paislee; the Avenue font is lovely, nice and narrow for long titles and the mix of gold and black is versatile enough to suit both formal and informal layouts.
I have another page planned for this collection, and it’s going to be a double. Until then, stay safe and happy scrapping!
