Hello,
Today I'm back on
The Mad Scrapper Blog sharing this cute different type of card to welcome a new baby and in this case for a boy.
It turned out to be bigger than I planned but to be honest I'm happy because it gave me more space to add all those lovely extra bits and pieces within the collection. I have added a full list at the bottom of this post.
I started by taking 2 sheets from the coordinating plain cardstock and cutting two 12 x3 strips from each. I then popped them on by scoreboard and scored at the half inch all the way along, creating mountain and valley folds. I joined the strips together and pushed from the outside to create my circle, I found it easier to store it in a round Pyrex dish with a plate on top whilst I added the glue to the back of a 4 inch scrap circle and placed it on top to hold it all in place.
I next cut a 6inch circle and added a patterned paper from the pad to it. I also glued some lace to the under side before gluing it on top of the base card. The pleated card is extremely sturdy to say the least.
Then next you can see I have added another slightly smaller circle cut from white and to that another paper from the pad. I cut and tucked under a flag banner from a scrap of paper.
Now all there is left to do is to choose toppers from the ephemera pack along with some adorable die cuts but all have come from the kit. The wonderful boy label has been added on top of 2 bits of chipboard for dimension allowing me to tuck things underneath.
I used 2 different dies to make the tag/star.
I stuck the floss to the back of the tag this time to make it more tidy. You can see I have added a few Nuvo drops and star sequins.
This heart banner is so adorable and I've tucked scrap paper behind the cut out hearts and the hearts I have added around the layout.
This is the back view with it's added patterned paper to the white card.
Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you feel inspired to give this a go. You can make them any size as you are only limited by the paper size. They are great for many occasions - I've seen some fabulous Christmas and wedding ones. Janine has lots of beautiful papers and embelishments in store so call in or go online to
