My second layout using the September Scrapaholix kit is a vintage style layout. I don’t suppose anyone who knows me, even a little, is surprised by this. 😉
I’ve used one full sheet and a couple of strips from another.
I’ve simply torn out two strips from my main sheet, stained them with vintage photo distress ink, then glued a couple of contrasting strips of paper in place to fill the gap so it’s still 12 x 12.
I had to translate the text that I’ve cut out to use just to make sure I didn’t use a phrase that made no sense at all. This one seemed ok and actually didn’t need much translating.
I’ve used some old lace to reflect the girl's lace collar in the photo. More hessian (burlap), to stick with the nice neutral theme of the kit and to reflect the use of hessian in the flower that came with the kit.
Ive also added some ephemera I had in my stash (I used an authentic vintage receipt as I liked the handwriting on it).
A few splatters to finish it off (I covered the photos with paper scraps while I added the splatters).
I still have some papers left, including bits of the one with some phrases and small images on it so I will probably use them to make another card or tag.
And I’m about to experiment with that super thick piece of specialist paper we got. I’m interested to see how adaptable it is.
I enjoyed using this months kit. I loved its soothing nature tones.
Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
Till next time 👋🏼
