Ray of Sunshine by KERRY MCINALLY
I began by using the same ‘Happy List’ paper which I used in my first layout, this time using the yellow, orange and coral rainbow sections.
I cut these out and distressed the edges. I tore a two inch strip from the ‘Take Note" paper, distressed the edges and placed this across the top of the ‘Touch of Pink’ cardstock. I then rearranged the rainbow sections, this left a slight gap in the middle but I knew I’d be placing my photo there.
I had a few scraps of the ‘Happy List’ paper so I cut out a few words which I thought would go with the photos I had chosen. I also cut out some of the note paper pieces from the ‘Take Note’ paper to use as layering pieces behind my photos.
I used these layering pieces behind my photos, both 3x4, one landscape and one portrait. I punched holes in one of the pieces, to add more interest behind the photo.
Then I began to build my layout adding one photo over the ‘gap’ in the patterned paper and one at an angle below it but slightly to the side. There are lots of lovely stickers with this kit, and I added 5 of them to this layout, mainly below my second photo to extend the layout downwards. I added the words I had previously cut out and also the ‘you wonderful thing you’ tag from the ‘All the Things' paper.
I added a further tag from the ephemera pack which goes with this collection, which I purchased separately.
Finally I decided I wanted to add something to the blank space at the bottom left and right. I used a stencil and ink, from my own stash, in Ripe Persimmon to create some rays. Then I used some puffy stickers from my own stash scattered around the photos and embellishments.
