MAKE A WISH

MAKE A WISH

This is a simple single layout, using the beautiful blue and yellow tones of the Make a Wish paper! Instantly the name of this paper took me back in time to when my boy, between the ages of 2-5, every time we found a dandelion growing in our garden, my son always tried to blow and make a wish.  Sadly for a few years he always managed to inhale the wish, this made me laugh! So, for my book I thought this was a nice story to remind him of this and how, even back then, he never gave up trying to succeed.

I used a sheet of Bazzill White 12” x 12”, I edged this with Distress Ink Faded Jeans, I then cut one sheet of Make a Wish to 11 ¾” x 11 ¾”.  I then cut a sheet of Bazzill Coastal 10” x 10”, using another sheet of Make a Wish I cut 9 ½” x 9 ½”. I placed these on top of each other centrally.

For my Photo matt I cut a piece of Bazzill Candle Glow 5” x 7”, I then cut a piece of Woodgrain cardstock to 6 ½” x 4 ¼”. Again I edged this with Faded Jeans ink.  I then finished with a photo of my dandelion.

For my title I used Woodgrain cardstock leftovers cut to 5 “x 1 ½”, again edged with Faded Jeans ink.  I then cut some more Candle Glow 4 ½” x 1”.  From the kit I then added the Simple Stories Cream Alpha’s, outlining them with my black micron pen.  Carrying on from the pocket note theme on my double layout, I made my own note pocket cutting a square of 1 ¾” x 1 ¾” scoring an edge all round of 1/8”, using the 1/8” section to secure this to my layout with scor-tape.  I then cut a piece of Candle Glow paper for my Journaling to insert inside. I added a small piece of All This and More paper to the front of the note – choosing a section with a yellow background and white flower.

My Dusty Attic of choice is a Spring Bloom #5, which I thought looked like a dandelion!  I painted the stock of this with Acrylic Paint – Golden Moss and the bud part I applied Snow-Tex texture paste, which I thought gave this a good effect!

To finish off, from my stash I used a metal embellishment flower secured with a brad and a small glass heart stuck down with 3D Gloss Gel – I may add that the 3D Gloss Gel dries clear!!!

All done, and I hope my son enjoys reading this page!

Lovely concept. I love dandelion seed heads. (I also love snowtex).
Your layout now has me hankering to lie in long grass in summer and watch the wish fairies fly from dandelion clocks… sigh
