I Am in Charge of My Happiness by KERRY MCINALLY

I started by cutting an 11 inch square (ish) piece of white cardstock.  I took the branding strip off the ‘Good Things’ paper and cut the grid section off the ledger paper and then trimmed it down to 11 inches also.
I matted my 3x4 photo on more white cardstock and then onto the Sunset Rose Dotted Swiss cardstock and distressed the edges.
Then using the packaging technique I applied some splatters of Lost Shadow and Victorian Velvet distress oxide ink to the white cardstock.
I distressed the edges of the white cardstock and the grid paper which I also tore slightly, (distressing and tearing are a great way of hiding not very accurate measuring and of course adding texture to your layout).  I put the white cardstock on top of the grey to create a frame and then adhered the grid paper to the left hand edge. I ruffled the edges of this and then slid under a length of pink ribbon lace and also added the branding strip.
Next I cut out the ‘I am in charge of my happiness’ 3x4 card and distressed the edges.  I also made a fake tag from the 4 x 6 card, by cutting out a section for the top one and one for the bottom.  I added some pink wax thread and a heart shaped brad from the kit.  I adhered both of these down raising the photo with some foam.
Finally I used the circular love foam sticker from the kit, some gold leaves that I had left on a Thickers sheet and then cut out some butterflies from a speciality sheet which I had, I folded these in half and raised them up on a tiny bit of foam to add dimension.
