Hello Scrappy friends and happy December.
The festive season has started off with a bang in my house. The Christmas tree and decorations are up. We've gone to our local Christmas fair already and this week is filled with Christmas parties and Christmas productions.
.... and I'm starting off the month with a page using the Scrapaholix December Kit
My first attempt at this page was a complete disaster and not worth salvaging so I binned it and the idea. The next morning I started off with a new idea and I am really glad I did as I am rather pleased with how this page has turned out. It is simplistic but different and I think that is why I like it so much.
I started off with a piece of American Crafts White cardstock, which is available from The Mad Scrapper, and cut 0.5cm off each side and I distressed the edges. I backed the white cardstock with the Bazzill Red Rock Cardstock from the main kit, before sticking them together I did remove the middle piece of the Red Rock cardstock as I knew I would use it for something else - not wanting to waste a whole piece of cardstock.
The photo I chose to scrap is a photo of my son posting his letter to Santa. I found an extremely old stamp in my stash of an envelope, which I don't think I have ever used. I used the stamp and Distress Oxides to cover the bottom of my page with envelopes.
Already knowing what photo I wanted to scrap I cut an element from the 4x4 Journaling Card Pattern paper, which is in the Main Kit and I distressed the edges. I backed my photo with a piece of white cardstock and then with the Bazzill Rainforest Cardstock from the Main kit and distressed the edges. I then stamped some more envelopes onto a spare piece of white cardstock and cut them out and distressed their edges.
I used the cut-out envelopes to create depth on my page and backed a few of them with sticky back foam to make them stand off the page. I added gold splatters to the page, I have a little of the Heidi Swapp Colour shine Gold left in my stash.
For my title, I used the alpha stickers in the Add-on kit and backed the white letters onto the leftover Red Rock cardstock and fussy cut them out.
I love how the red backing makes the letters jump off the page. I then used the envelopes and the snowflake stickers on the 12x12 sticker sheet, from the Main kit, to add interest to my page.
And that's my 'Dear Santa' page.
Happy Scrapping xx
