The March kit and add on is so pretty that I really didn't want to add a lot more to it. It has so many lovely stickers and the papers are ideal for fussy cutting and layering up. I've made a concertina album to fit into a matching tin.
First off I gave my tin a layer of gesso to make sure the paint went on smoothly. I then used two coats of an acrylic paint in a contrasting colour to the kit. As an after thought I dry brushed some of the gesso onto the dried paint tin to give it a bit of a distressed look.
I measured up my tin and cut out a piece of the pink card to fit slightly smaller and rounded the edges. I then fussy cut some of the paper images out.
I mixed a little bit of spun sugar into some crackle paste and used it with a lacy stencil. To add some texture I adhered a piece of burlap to the bottom of the tin lid. I then used 3D foam pads to layer up the fussy cut images. I added the little sticker to the top left corner and then added two cabachons.
To make the little album I used the coconut swirl cardstock and made a little concertina book. For the front page I layered up papers and card and used oxide tea dye to ink the edges. I have done this throughout the album. I then cut out one of the framed pictures and a flower and adhered them to the front. I then added two stickers and the chipboard dreamy embellishment.
For the inside two pages I cut more layered pieces of card and paper for both. For the right hand side page I made two little envelopes out of the papers and added a sticker to each of the closures. These could hold little photos or journalling. For the left side I layered up some of the fussy cut pieces I made and adhered them with 3D foam pads. I then added a little round sticker to the top left of the page.
This little album would be great for a special occasion to hold little photos and journaling and you could easily add more pages to it.
