Hello!
I'm up on
The Mad Scrapper Blog today with this gorgeous layout of my late parents who are now together forever.
I have used 2 papers from Blue-Fern-Studios from the
"Lucky* Star* collection for this as well as a sheet of lilac which I had already gutted out for something else. Firstly apologies for the next couple of photos as my lighting wasn't very good! I started by trimming
Wish down to 11.5 square, distressed the edges and then using
Crackle Texture Paste through my favourite
Finnabair Stencil - Iris Tapestry in several areas, I left it to dry.
Then from the
Stardust paper I fussy cut the flower cluster from the left along with the jewel and a fancy tag. I also cut from the lilac paper a half tag and a few leaves from some green.
Once the crackle paste had dried (next day for me) I didn't like it being so white so I brushed on a little
Seedless Preserves and
Peacock Feathers distress inks and I'll use these again on this layout.
I started by stitching with embroidery floss in old gold in 3 places. In this top left I have added a few beads in colours within the papers. I also fussy cut out that dangling lock and placed it back down using foam pads. I also added 2 green gems where they were flat on the paper. You can see here where I decided to add the flower cluster.
This next photo shows a small cluster of flowers, leaves and the 2 tags I made. I added green floss to them and you will see it is the same I have used to stitch on the corner. I also used some
Cheesecloth under the photo to soften it.
This next photo shows the title which is a sentiment from a Kaisercraft paper which I've kept for sometime. You may also be able to see a couple of Kaisercraft
Rhinestones in dark-purple I have used quite a few on the layout. The colours in these papers are so rich and jewel like, they were a dream to use.
In this next photo you get a better view of the main cluster in which I have used these new 49andmarket
Rustic Bouquet Paper Flowers in Blue Jay, also
Pixie Petals ,
1.5cm Roses - White which I touched with the distress ink,
Mini Flowers in cream and another couple of flowers from my stash. You can also see the heart jewel I cut out and added with foam beneath.
Here you can see the tops of the tags and the fussy cut flower piece. When I finished the layout I decided to add some splatters in gold. I can tell you I stress greatly over doing this right at the end just in case I mess it up!!!
One final look at the layout complete, I love this as it was taken at the party celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary back in 2008.
Thanks for stopping by again today. Do try to leave a comment as it's always nice to see who has dropped by. Also I hope you can find time to stop over at
The Mad Scrapper you will definitely find lots to take your fancy in there.
Till next time, take care.
Sue.
