Book of Magic: Journal Cover by Louise Crosbie.

Hi there.
I’ve been giving one of my art journals a bit of a makeover.

It somehow feels more inspiring to work in if it’s a bit magical on the outside instead of simply ‘Kraft brown’ coloured.

I used some of my Finnabair supplies for it and I was motivated to get it done when Anna (Finnabair) set her Patreons a little ‘book of magic’ challenge last month.

I started by adding texture through a stencil using Modelling Paste and then I attached all my resin and metal embellishments using Heavy Body Gel
When the gel had dried and all my embellishments were secure, I painted it all over with Impasto Paint.
Some of the new Metallique waxes (as well as some of the older ones) finished it off along with some of the diamond cut Melange pebbles for a little sparkle.

That’s my little ‘Book Of Magic’ journal.
Doing it actually did inspire me to do quite a few journal spreads in it already.
Here is a little sample.

Thanks for visiting the blog.
