Happy Together : Layout by Sue Crease

Happy Together : Layout by Sue Crease

Hello,
Today I'm up on the Blog with this happy layout of my sister and her family on holiday earlier this summer. The photo I’ve placed on the red mat was just a quick black and white version as she will replace it with the lovely sunny full coloured one when she receives this.
I started by taking the At Sea paper and cutting it down to 11.25 inches then offsetting it on to red Bazzill card stock only allowing the top and left edges to show. As always, I have distressed the edges of the At Sea paper first. If you already have this paper you will see it has a net effect already on it but in my 49 and Market stash I had some tan coloured ephemera from a Beach set from maybe two years ago.
I cut a piece from one edge and allowed it to pop out at the upper right and lower left corners. I also cut up the Journal sheet and layered two pieces to tuck under the top left, and one I trimmed to add on top of the other to the bottom right. I gutted out (removed the middle from) the red so I could use a piece for my photo to sit on. I distressed all the edges of everything I have just mentioned

This next photo shows how I have loaded up the top left cluster using ephemera from many other collections purchased from Janine and you may already have them in your own stash. A full list of mine can be found below.

This is the bottom right cluster where I’ve dotted drops of Glossy Accents and gems around the layout.

Here you can see the net a little closer along with a seagull and one of the Vicki Boutin cameras.

The title I have chosen to use is a Gold Foil Title from Cocoa Vanilla lifted with foam pads under the "to" to bring it to the same hight as the rest lies on top of the photo.

I wanted to make sure I didn't hide the sunshine on the paper so I added a blue strip which is from the manufacturer strip and I used fancy cut scissors to highlight the split from the photo and the phrase.

A closer look at the cluster and how it's built up.

Same here showing the bottom cluster and its height.
Thanks for stopping by today.
I hope I've inspired you to use these beautiful papers and pull out your collection of laser cuts and chipboard. If you haven't got enough pop in to see what's there today or go to the online shop. Janine now stocks many different companies so there are lots and lots to choose from.

Sue.
