Happiest by KAREN MOSS
I always ask for way too many embellishments when I am designing with a collection. I know my layouts are usually very embellishment heavy but then I have so many left over. The embellishments in the 49 and Market Sunburst collection are so gorgeous that I totally went overboard with ordering laser cuts and embellishment packs! In order to use up some of these I decided to make some embellishment clusters and use lots and lots of my gorgeous left overs.
To begin I sorted my die-cuts into piles e.g. flowers and butterflies, circles, phrases, tags and tickets etc.
I also pulled out the embellishments from the Sunburst Ultimate Page Kit and some flowers, although I knew I wouldn't use all of these I wanted to give myself as many options as possible.
I added some torn pieces of Sunburst washi tape to four white tags and used Spun Sugar texture paste through a brick stencil on each one.
On each one I added a different colour distress oxide ink but three of the colours were very similar and so ended up looking the same.
Next I added half a laser cut doily and a large ticket.
Then a laser cut bow, phrase held on with a white peg and a printed card from the embellishment pack.
Finally, flowers and leaves, a circle with a phrase, a butterfly and another small phrase were added.
I then repeated this for all four tags.
A photo and three of these clusters were then added to a piece of Sunburst Flamingo Terrace paper to make my layout.
As I had one remaining embellishment cluster I made a card with it. Card making is not something I do very often but I so enjoyed making these clusters that I am certainly going to be using some of my left over embellishments for them in the future.
