Hello there folks.
I wanted to use one of the 49 and Market folio sets to make a mini album for today’s project. Mostly because I’m really awful at making albums from scratch and if I buy a ready made one with too many pages I never finish them. Album making is so outside of my comfort zone.
The folios come in various styles and shapes and I think they are for adding to larger albums. But I decided that using one from the pack would probably be about the extent of my album making skills. Turns out there’s enough pieces in there to make two this size.
The fact I actually completed one in just over a day has won me over. This is my ultimate size of album. And the folio comes with the pages, flaps, hinges, pockets etc, already cut and scored so I couldn’t really go wrong. (Well actually I could and I did… but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t fix lol)
I’ve used my all time favourite scrapbook papers. Cosmos, by Stamperia. I’ve bought a few sets over time but hardly used them. You know it’s hard to cut into papers you love right? Anyway I went for it. I figured I had enough in my Stamperia paper drawer that I could use some and still have lots left over.
I’ve used some from the original set, the new cosmos infinity set and the new cosmos infinity backgrounds. They are so vibrant and romantic (in a cosmos planetary way). I’ve also used some of the diecuts that match.
I used a simple wrap around paper band with a magnet to hold it closed.
And I incorporated some of my mixed media supplies to add some extra interest. Things like stencils, effect pastes, glitters, metallic wax, washi tape, phrases/sentiment stickers, sparks paint etc.
There are a lot of photos in this post (sorry) but I wanted you to see how many pages I got from it and I’ve only used half of what came in the packet so far. I'm thinking of doing a portrait aspect one next, now I’ve done this landscape one. I’ll have to decide which papers I’m going to bravely cut into though.
Plus the papers are so beautiful, it’s nice to show them off as much as possible.
Thanks for visiting the blog. I hope you enjoyed seeing these papers used on an easy to make album using the folio set.
