Cool Crisp Autumn Days by KAREN MOSS
I have used one of my favourite photographs for this page - one of our daughter and our retriever, Kiera. Although, this was taken in 2017and Kiera is no longer with us, I still manage to scrap this photo almost every autumn - do you scrap a photo more than once? I have to confess that if I like a particular photo I will scrap it over and over again!
When I saw the Vicki Boutin Print Shop - Floral Frenzy I knew I wanted to paint the flowers. I used watercolour paints from Royal and Langnickle and took inspiration from the colours of the large butterfly from a pack of Vintage Artistry - In The Leaves Ephemera. I also tried to mix a green similar to the green tickets in this pack.
Once I had painted the paper I trimmed 1/4" from each side and mounted it onto a piece of white cardstock. My photo was added to the large frame, with the butterfly at the bottom right, also from the In The Leaves pack. I added the gate, from Curators Meadow Laser Cuts to the left of my photo. Also from the laser cuts I added a row of mushrooms below my photo and leaves climbing up the right of my photo.
From the In the Leaves Ephemera I added another large butterfly over the top of the one on the frame, to give some dimension.
On the row of mushrooms I added a mouse and fox, from the laser cuts and also added a squirrel to the leaves and two birds to the gate. Butterflies, also from the laser cuts, were dotted about my page with the title 'Cool and Crisp Autumn Days' from the In The Leaves Ephemera.
To finish, I used some labels and pennants at the top right of my page and underneath my photo - these were from my own supplies.
